Alice O. Coley, of the 1200 block of Nero Drive, died on April 28, 1997, in Maryview Hospital.
Born in Nixon Township, N.C., she was a member of New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, Portsmouth. She regularly attended Holy Light Church of Deliverance, Portsmouth.
Survivors include her husband, Emmett Coley of Portsmouth; six daughters, Mary Mitchell and Carrie Stewart, both of Portsmouth, Bernadine Rodgers of Chesapeake, Velma Meritt and Maranda Harrison, both of Norfolk, and Barbara Lewis of Dayton, Ohio; three sons, McCoy Lee Parker of Portsmouth and Ernest Parker Jr. and Douglas Edward Parker, both of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two nieces, a nephew, a cousin, in-laws and friends, and an adopted sister, Mary Jackson; a very special friend, Bernice Harrell of Portsmouth; and her mother-in-law, Mittie Darden.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Holy Light Church of Deliverance by Pastor S.L. Carruth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
