FEMALE OFFICER ALLEGES SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

A female police officer has accused one of her male supervisors of sexual misconduct, Chief Michael R. Lloyd said Thursday.

Lloyd said the incident occurred either Sept. 13 or Sept. 20, 1996. Both officers have been put on paid administrative leave until the State Bureau of Investigation finishes its investigation.

``Pending any possible criminal charges that might develop from the SBI's investigation, the Police Department is treating the issue as a personnel issue and will not release the names of the two officers,'' Lloyd said in a statement.

Depending on the results of the investigation, Lloyd said, he may impose administrative sanctions.
