Manning Convalescent Home in Portsmouth has planned a number of activities for National Nursing Home Week, which is May 11-17.
The activities are:
May 10 - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Portsmouth Area Golden Olympics Games and Health Rally at the game fields and gym at Churchland High School, 4301 Cedar Lane; 3 p.m., ice cream social and dancing.
May 11 - 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mother's Day Celebration, first-floor Great Room at Manning Convalescent Home, 175 Hatton St.
May 12 - Kick off of National Nursing Home Week. 2:30 p.m., Reading of the ``Proclamation of National Nursing Home Week'' by a local dignitary, first-floor Great Room, Manning Convalescent Home; 3 p.m., recognition ceremony of the ``Mr. and Mrs. Manning Convalescent Home'' with a coronation ball immediately following, first-floor Great Room, Manning Convalescent Home.
May 13 - 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., ``A Country Cook Out'' for residents and staff, Manning Convalescent Home's Grounds.
May 14 - 10:30 a.m., Wheelchair Parade Carnival, Manning Convalescent Home Grounds.
May 15 - 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., ice cream social party with local elementary school children who participated in ``Caring for Ages'' essay contest, first-floor Great Room, Manning Convalescent Home.
May 16 - 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., rummage sale, first-floor Dining Room, Manning Convalescent Home; Staff Appreciation Day, a free lunch for all staff members.
May 17 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Parkview Health Rally sponsored by Parkview Baptist Church.
