JAMES W. MILES

James W. Miles, 72, of the 300 block of Bunche Blvd. died May 1, 1997.

A native of Columbus, Ga. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 30 years of service. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Alpha and Omega Lodge of Masons No. 47, William H. Harrison Post No. 190 American Legion, and he was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley W. Miles; sister, Catherine Pyatt of Columbus; aunt, Ann Jones; two godsons, Darrell Whitfield and Cecil Whitfield; two nephews, Roland Walton and Ivan Pyatt.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
