DOROTHEA W. DAYRIES

Dorothea W. Dayries, 80, of the 800 block of Madison St., died May 1, 1997, in Autumn Care of Portsmouth.

Born in Portsmouth, she was the widow of Lee John Dayries. Mrs. Dayries was a member of First Baptist Church South Portsmouth and a member of the Pastor's Aid and an usher. She was retired as a shipping clerk from General Foam after 10 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda McRae, and son-in-law, Larry McRae, of Portsmouth; two sisters, Leathea Jordan of Los Angeles and Hilter Rawles of Portsmouth; a stepbrother, Linwood Dozier of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church South Portsmouth by the Rev. Warren E. Amlet. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing will begin at Corprew Funeral Home at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday for the procession to the church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
