Blanche T. Turner, 73, of the 1000 block of Clay St., died May 3, 1997, in her residence.
Born in Southampton County, she was the widow of Joe W. Turner and a past member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Capron.
Survivors include four daughters, Mason A. Ward, Barbara Turner, both of Portsmouth, Roslyn T. Rawls of Suffolk, Udean T. Burgess of Suitland, Md.; five sons, Albert, Charlie, Dennis and John Smith, all of Portsmouth, Joe W. Turner Jr. of Fort Washington, Md.; two sisters, Ida Smith and Annie Hobbs; a brother, Sam Turner; four brothers-in-law, James Turner, Jesse Hobbs, Art Turner, Frank Williams and Preston Fisher; three daughters-in-law, Katrina Turner, Gail Smith, Lavera Smith; two sons-in-law, Harold B. Ward and Kenny S. Rawls; three sisters-in-law, Alberta Turner, Sandra Turner, Gloria J. Allen; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Third Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
