MARGARET R. BURKET

Margaret R. ``Peggy'' Burket, formerly of Boxwood Drive, died May 6, 1997, in Seaford, Del.

A retired supply clerk at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, she was a native of Altoona, Pa., and the widow of Ira Floy Burket, who died in 1968. She was a member of Cradock United Methodist Church and, more recently, of Grace Baptist Church, Seaford.

For many years, she had also been an active square dancer with the Beazley Promenadors in the Chesapeake area and did volunteer work in the area nursing homes.

Survivors include two sons, James V. Burket of Seaford and Richard R. Burket of Brevard, N.C.; sister, Leona McConnell of Camp Hill, Pa.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, by the Rev. Mike Robbins. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour before the service. Those who desire may pay their respects at the funeral home Thursday evening.
