HANNAH A. BARBER

Hannah A. Barber, 76, of the 1800 block of North Alanton Drive died May 5, 1997.

A Newark, N.J., native, she was an active member of Alanton Garden Club for 25 years, where she served on various committees and held various offices. She was involved in numerous civic activities in Virginia Beach and her Alanton neighborhood. She will be deeply missed by her neighbors, friends and all those she has helped over the years.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Barber; daughter, Donna B. Trolenberg and her husband, William, of Hampton; two sons, Henry L. Barber and his wife, Laurie, of Austin, Texas, and Michael E. Barber and his wife, Rhonda, of Colerain, N.C.; five grandchildren, Natalie, Courtney, Kristel, Candace and Alexandria; sister-in-law, Lillian Abramson of Sarasota, Fla.; niece, Edith Kurtz of New Hampshire; and nephew, Paul Abramson of Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be conducted at noon Thursday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alanton Garden Club, care of treasurer, 1700 N. Alanton Drive, Virginia Beach, Va. 23454, or the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
