Chief executive officers from almost a hundred major American corporations will gather in Williamsburg this evening for a private two-day program on business in Asia.
Members of the Business Council gather in Colonial Williamsburg each May and October to discuss business, economic and government issues. The 100-member organization also meets in Washington each February.
Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin is scheduled to address the council members Friday morning.
James Sasser, U.S. ambassador to the People's Republic of China and a former senator from Tennessee, will speak at a dinner Friday evening.
The roster of speakers includes U.S. Commerce Secretary William Daley and Henry Kissinger, a business consultant and former secretary of state and presidential adviser on foreign affairs.
Among the CEOs scheduled to attend are Philip M. Condit of Boeing Co., Dana G. Mead of Tenneco Inc., and Lawrence A. Bossidy of AlliedSignal Inc. The meeting, which is being held in the Williamsburg Lodge, runs through Saturday morning.
