Two men sought
in shooting death
near Norfolk State
Police are looking for two men in connection with the shooting death early Sunday of a 36-year-old man near Norfolk State University. Investigators said a young girl with the men may have witnessed the shooting.
Morgan Ricks of the 800 block of Marshall Ave. was shot at 1:23 a.m. at the intersection of Bond Street and Reservoir Avenue, police said.
Witnesses reported seeing a black or dark blue four-door vehicle - possibly a Nissan Stanza - leaving the area after the shooting. They said that two men were in the front seats and that a girl who appeared to be about 5 and had a ponytail was riding in the back.
The motive for the shooting is unknown. Anyone with information is asked to called Crime Line at 664-4040.
68-year-old is charged
in man's fatal shooting
A 68-year-old man faces arraignment on murder charges this morning after a shooting Sunday that left a 31-year-old man dead, police said.
Joel Williams of the 1200 block of W. 39th St. was shot at 3:51 p.m. after an argument, police said. He died a short time later at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Clifton Sutton, also of the 1200 block of W. 39th St., was charged with murder and using a gun in commission of a felony.
Teen dies of injuries
from May 2 shooting
A 15-year-old who was shot May 2 died Saturday, police said.
Ricky McLain, of the 600 block of Walker Ave., was shot while in a car in the 500 block of Lancaster St. He died in a hospital at 5:17 p.m. Saturday. There have been no arrests, and the motive for the shooting is unkown.
