MARY M. HOPPE

Mary Meacham Hoppe went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 14, 1997.

Mary was the beloved wife of 54 years of Louis W. Hoppe, attorney.

Born May 10, 1918, in Seattle, Wash., she was the daughter of Edith and Eugene Meacham, also an attorney. She was the loving and devoted mother of five children and the grandmother of nine.

Mary's children are Jean Hoppe Kern of Virginia Beach; granddaughters, Kimberly, Carrie and Ashley, Marilyn M. Hoppe of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Louis M. Hoppe and wife, Helen, of Kitty Hawk, Caroline and Louis, grandchildren; David F. Hoppe and wife, Gloria, of Harbinger, N.C., David and Molly, grandchildren; and Richard K. Hoppe and wife, Barbara of Wilmington, N.C., Richard and Emily, grandchildren.

Mary blessed all who knew her with her loving, generous and selfless devotion.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 23, in Nags Head, with Pastor Jim Blocker officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local hospice. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
