Araminta B. Ash, 70, of the 1200 block of Des Moines Ave., died May 14, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Born in Seaboard, N.C., she was the widow of Thomas Ash and a member of New Mount Olivet Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse's aide.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Miller and Marion Wright; two sons, Benjamin Whitehead and Charles Whitehead; five sisters; seven brothers; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in New Mount Olivet Baptist Church by the Rev. Milton L. Blount. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
