BERNICE B. BENJAMIN

Bernice B. Benjamin, 87, of the 8000 block of West Glen Road, died May 19, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Belmont, N.Y., she was a retired bookkeeper and member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and its Ladies Bible Class. She was a graduate of Belmont High School, Belmont, where she was a star basketball player. She also graduated from Norfolk Business College and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Virginia Chapter (NU)22, Virginia Rebekah Lodge (NU)13 and Tidewater Chapter W.I.B.C.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Benjamin; four sisters, Evelyn Sizer of Wellsville, N.Y., Pauline Miller and Lena Brooks, both of Belmont, Thelma Pierson of Leigh Acres, Fla.; a brother, John Bigelow of Belmont; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Seeley of Norfolk.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Amon. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
