Willie B. Lavender, 73, felt the touch of God's hand as he was welcomed into the glory of heaven to begin his eternal life May 14, 1997.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ella Lavender of Old Fort, N.C., and his wife, Ruth Lavender of Virginia Beach; daughter, Patricia Evans of Virginia Beach; four sons, Patrick of Lynchburg, Va., and Robert, Michael and Richard, all of Virginia Beach; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Hubert Coyle Lavender; two brothers, Grover Coyle and James Grady Lavender, and his granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Lavender.
Funeral services were held May 17, 1997, at Kirksey-McCall Funeral Home, Old Fort. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice or the American Heart Association. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
