ROSCOE HAYTER JR.

Roscoe Hayter Jr., 68, of the 600 block of Cavendish Drive, died May 24, 1997, in his residence.

Mr. Hayter was born in Abingdon, Va., and had retired from the Navy as a commander after 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Rebecca Hayter; a daughter, Cheryl Nunn and husband, Jack, of Dallas; two sons, Larry Hayter and wife, Mary Anne, of Washington, N.J., Jerry Hayter and wife, Diana, of Dallas; a sister, Belle Hockett and husband, Leo, of Abingdon; nine grandchildren, Keri, Karla, L.J., Kim, Justin, Alex, Becky, Devin and Mercedez; numerous friends, Jean and Harry Taylor, Helen and Charlie Stitzel, Ike Cochran, and all of his friends at Miss Kitty's Village Inn.

A service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
