The following is a list of Memorial Day closings and observances

for today, Memorial Day.

Closed: financial institutions, city offices and courts; state

ABC stores, Department of Motor Vehicles branch offices.

Garbage collection:

Virginia Beach, regular collection.

Portsmouth, regular collection.

Chesapeake will collect on Wednesday.

Suffolk will collect one day late.

Recycling collection: Norfolk and Suffolk's recyclables will be

collected on garbage collection day.

Postal service: no regular mail delivery.

Tidewater Regional Transit: Buses will follow a Saturday

schedule.
