Jessie Buford Williams, 71, of the 1100 block of Cresthaven Lane died May 26, 1997, in Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk.
A plant superintendent for Air-a-Plane Corp., he retired after 50 years in 1994. He was born and raised in the Norfolk area and was a Protestant. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Owens Masonic Lodge No. 164.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Williams; two daughters, Becky Lynn Williams, Cheryl W. Savage and husband, Dr. Anthony Savage, all of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Herman C. Williams Jr. of Portsmouth, Lindsey T. Williams of Norfolk and Eddie Williams of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Ashley Savage and Ross Savage, both of Virginia Beach; and many other loving family members.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
