OLLIE B. PRATER

Ollie B. ``Honey'' Prater of the 200 block of W. 34th St. received her invitation to enter into the kingdom of God on May 24, 1997.

A native of Norfolk, she was a retired custodian with 20 years of service with the Norfolk Public Schools. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, the Number 2 Usher Board and the Pastor's Host and Hostess Club.

Survivors include her husband, Esau Prater of Norfolk; nine daughters, Carolyn Edmonds of Virginia Beach, Joan McFadden of Norfolk, Larcell Arnett of Washington, D.C., Joan Prater of Oceanside, Calif., Janice Prater of Philadelphia, Annette Freeman of Norfolk, Sharon Whitfield of Norfolk, Marian Parrish of Norfolk and Delores Prater of Norfolk; one son, David L. Prater of Norfolk; two sisters, Ella Brown of Norfolk and Josephine Porter of Norfolk; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of devoted relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by a son, Keith Prater.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 525 Dinwiddie St., Norfolk, by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will assemble at 204 W. 33rd St., Norfolk, Thursday at 10 a.m. for a funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is in charge.
