WILLIAM F. RAIFORD

William Frederick Raiford, 98, died Monday, May 26, at East Pavilion, Franklin, where he had resided for the past eight years. A lifelong resident of Southampton County, he was the son of the late Levi P. and Alice Crabor Raiford. A faithful and loyal member of Corinth Friends Meeting and the Corinth community, Mr. Raiford attended meetings as long as his health permitted and was the oldest living member at the time of his death.

He was the husband of the late Elma Lowe Raiford.

He is survived by two daughters, Jean R. Seely and Joyce R. Uzzell and her husband, Jesse; a son, H. Elton Raiford and his wife, Nancy, all of Ivor; asister, Maude R. Scott of Franklin; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Corinth Friends Meeting, Ivor, by Ken Thames, pastor, David Hobson and Hershel Hill, former pastors. The meeting house will be opened at 1 p.m. Thursday for visitors.

Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at Mr. Raiford's former residence, now occupied by his daughter, Jean, at 32225 Seacock Chapel Road, Ivor. Memorial donations may be made to the Corinth Friends Meeting, 13494 Corinth Road, Ivor, Va. 23866. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
