PORTSMOUTH POLICE LOOK FOR SUSPECTS IN GUNPLAY

Police are searching for suspects who fired gunshots at an occupied police car and three other cars Thursday night.

Around 11:12 p.m., officers heard gunfire in the 300 block of Wilson Parkway.

Several people were seen looking over a wall that borders Frederick Boulevard and then fleeing toward the 200 block of Wilson Parkway. Officers ran after the suspects, but they escaped.

Police received information that the suspects had thrown their weapons into a car and hidden inside an apartment on Wilson Parkway. Police found several casings in the area where four cars, including an occupied police car, had been hit. No injuries were reported.

Police said they have recovered two handguns, a rifle and a shotgun.
