IRINEO V. RAMIRO

Irineo Velasco Ramiro, 62, of the 500 block of Prince of Wales Drive died May 30, 1997, in his residence.

A retired U.S. Navy veteran of 26 years, he also worked in the lab at Virginia Beach General Hospital as a lab technician for 23 years.

He was a native of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and, while serving in Vietnam, he earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for heroic achievement.

He was a caring husband of Corazon S. Ramiro and loving father of four sons, Craig A. Ramiro, Christopher R. Ramiro, Marcelo Clifford and Anthony W. Clifford. He is also survived by his mother, Clemencia V. Ramiro; six sisters, Dolores Walker, Dollie Dacuycuy, Lucrecia Malacas, Rosita Rivera, Nora Acorda and Eugenia Cacuyog; brother, Rizal V. Ramiro; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, today from 6 to 9 p.m., where a Christian Wake will be held at 6 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
