MARGARET A. DUNTON

Margaret Ann Dunton, 90, who lived in Norfolk for 41 years before moving to Westminster-Canterbury, Virginia Beach, in 1982, died June 2, 1997.

She taught for 12 years at Smithfield High School and was principal of Lafayette, Larchmont and Lansdale Schools in Norfolk. She also was an elementary school coordinator for the City of Norfolk Schools until 1972. She was a native of Northampton County, Va., and was a member of Hungers Episcopal Church of Bridgetown, Va., and attended All Saints Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach. She was a graduate of Longwood College, received her master's degree from Columbia University and completed post graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.

She is survived by a sister, Mary D. Nicolls of Virginia Beach; two nieces, Miss Margaret Nicolls of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Paul Kennedy of Accomac, Va. She was predeceased by her nephew, James C. Dunton Jr.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hungers Episcopal Church Cemetery, Bridgetown, by the Rev. Harry W. Crandall. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals or Westminster- Canterbury Memorial Fund. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
