Gertrude Swan Stark, 91, a resident of the Masonic Home, formerly of 3414 W. 10th St., died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at her residence.
She was born in Swanville, Pa., Jan. 8, 1906, the daughter of the late Ralph and Maude Johnston Swan. Mrs. Stark was a graduate of East High School, attended Westminster College and the University of West Virginia. She worked for several years at both the Red Cross and Florence Crittenton Home, Erie. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she loved gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gordon Stark. She is survived by a daughter, T. Augusta Gordon of East Springfield; two sons, Richard Swan Stark of Prosser, Wash., and Gordon Johnston ``Jonathan'' Stark of Studio City, Calif.; and two granddaughters.
No calling hours were observed.
A graveside service was held at Erie Cemetery, 2116 Chestnut St., Monday. The Burton West Lake Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Florence Crittenton Home, 643 E. Sixth St., Erie, Pa. 16507. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
