CELIA WILLIAMS

Celia ``Emily'' Williams of the 3100 block of Welcome Road died June 4, 1997, in her residence.

Born in Windsor, N.C., she was the widow of Woodrow W. Williams Sr. She was a member of St. Andrew's Church of God in Christ, ``Mother of the Church'' and treasurer of the Mother's Board.

Survivors include three daughters, Georgia Taylor of Norfolk, Joyce Williams of Chesapeake, Sylvia Brooks of Virginia Beach; five sons, Ernest Williams, Anthony Williams, James Williams, Michael Williams, an adopted son, Michael Strickland, all of Chesapeake; a sister, Annie Razor Chesapeake; a brother, James Sutton of Chesapeake; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Shirley Williams, Vergie Williams, both of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in St. Andrew's C.O.G.I.C., Norfolk, by Bishop Lauretta Jones. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Pretlow's Funeral Home, Norfolk, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 3107 Welcome Road, Chesapeake, at 11:15 a.m. Saturday for the procession to the church. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
