Luke E. Wood, 81, died June 8, 1997.
A retired department head of West Point Pepperell, he was the widower of Alma T. Wood and a member of United Methodist Church, West Point, Ga., and the Lions Club. He was a native of Virginia.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Wilkerson, and her husband, Greg, of Raeford, N.C., and Janice W. Graham and her husband, Worth, of Virginia Beach; two sisters; two brothers; seven grandchildren: and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Luke E. Wood Jr.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Danny J. Kesner. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
