SARAH JAFFE JACOBSON

Sarah Jaffe Jacobson, 90, died June 9, 1997, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Jacobson was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Joseph Meyer Jacobson. She and her sister, Mrs. Alma Jaffe Wilgard, owned The Uniform Shop in Portsmouth for 20 years. Mrs. Jacobson was a member of Congregation Beth El and for many years was also a member of Gomley Chesed and was active in Hadassah.

She was predeceased by her son, Barry L. Jacobson of Virginia Beach.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Alan I. Jacobson, and his wife, Charlotte, of Athens, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Laurey C. Jacobson of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters, Marla T. Jacobson of Atlanta and Jennifer L. Jacobson of Virginia Beach; sister, Alma J. Wilgard of Norfolk; brother, Joseph Jaffe, and his wife, Ida, of Murray Hill, N.J.; niece, Abby Buchberg, and her husband, Stephan, of Virginia Beach; a nephew, Marshall Wilgard of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. today in Gomley Chesed Cemetery, Portsmouth, by Rabbi Philip S. Krohn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Beth El. The family will be at 5084 Pleasant Valley Road, Virginia Beach. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
