CAUSBY WINS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD: Margaret P. Causby, executive vice president of Old Point National Bank, received the 1997 American Bankers Association's Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes outstanding leadership and accomplishment in banking's regulatory compliance management profession.

HOLT JOINS ENGINEERING FIRM: Paul deC. Holt Jr. has joined Patton Harris Rust & Associates as a project manager. He has 31 years of experience with area engineering and surveying firms and is secretary-treasurer of the Virginia Association of Surveyors, Tidewater chapter.

DOMINION ENERGY TO UNLOAD HALF OF GENERATOR STAKE: Dominion Energy, a subsidiary of Richmond-based utility holding company Dominion Resources, will sell 49 percent of its stake in EGENOR, a 405-megawatt electric generator in Peru. The buyer is Chilgener SA, Chile's electric power company. Chilgener will pay Dominion Energy $123 million. The deal is expected to close later this summer. Dominion Energy said the sale will raise capital for its efforts to expand into other markets and reduce its capital exposure in any one country.

NOLAND COMPANY'S MAY SALES DOWN FROM LAST YEAR: Noland Co. reported May sales of $39.2 million, 10.5 percent less than May 1996's $43.8 million. For the first five months of 1997, the wholesale distribution firm's sales totaled $189 million, one percent below the year-earlier period's $190.5 million. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
