PUBLIC HEARING

River Park Neighborhood: Michael and Theresa Anderson request a rezoning from Commercial C-1 and Residential Single-Family RS-75 to Commercial C-2-K. Approved, 6-1; Benn opposed

Downtown Neighborhood: Jamal and Alanna Smith request a use permit to operate a residential-care facility. Approved, 7-0

Downtown Neighborhood: Norman Malbon requests a use permit to operate a beauty salon at 507 Middle St. Approved, 5-2; Martin and Pitts opposed

Downtown Neighborhood: Robert Conery requests a use permit to operate a drinking place at 612 Court St. Approved, 6-1; Pitts opposed

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Resolution granting the request of the City of Portsmouth to amend the Comprehensive Plan's Land Use and Parks and Open Space Sections by expanding parks and open space uses in the Churchland area. Adopted, 7-0

Resolution granting the rezoning request of the City of Portsmouth to rezone 4510 Twin Pine Road from Residential Single Family RS-150 to Preservation P-1. Adopted, 7-0

CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

Adoption of a motion to transfer $65,000 from the General Fund Contingency (Emergency) for the cost of prisoner medical services and laundry services in the City Jail. Adopted, 7-0

Adoption of a motion to transfer $106,340 from the Grants Contingency Accountfor the 1997 Summer Breakfast and Lunch Program as awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture. Adopted, 7-0

Adoption of an ordinance to close a 10-foot pedestrian walkway from High Street to its end behind Maryview Medical Center. Adopted, 7-0
