Jesse Cotton ``J.C.'' Jacocks, 73, of the 1100 block of Stokes Ave., died Sunday, June 15, 1997 at his river home at Bal Gra.
He was a native of Bertie County and owner of Jacocks Building Supply. Mr. Jacocks graduated from Lewiston High School and attended East Carolina University. He was a member of Davie Lodge (NU)39 and St. Thomas Episcopal Church. He was a former scoutmaster and former member of the Chamber of Commerce and past director of Southern Bank.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Barnes Jacocks; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith Annette J. Loftin and Glynn Loftin of Swansboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Stevenson Jacocks and Sylvia Newell Jacocks of Williamston; and grandchildren, William Emmett Ingram III of Greensboro, Robert Walker Ingram of Raleigh and Sylvia Cotton Jacocks of Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas Episcopal Church by the Rev. Barbara Chaffee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today in Walker Funeral Home and at other times at Bal Gra Road, Merry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, P.O.
