NORFOLK
On April 19, just after 11 p.m., emergency workers were sent to the 3000 block of Rialto Place in the Villa Heights section, where there was a report of a man, possibly injured, in a parked car.
Rescue crews found two men who had been shot to death.
The victims were Cedric Morris Cochran, 23, of the 1500 block of W. 41st St., and Antonio A. Shoulders, 20, of the 3300 block of Indian River Road in Chesapeake.
Both men frequented the Lamberts Point section of Norfolk.
Police are seeking any information on where they were before they died or anyone who may have been seen with them.
CHESAPEAKE
On May 25, about 8:45 p.m., a man tried to rob two people sitting in their car at a truck stop in the 4700 block of W. Military Highway.
When the robbery was unsuccessful, the man fired two shots into the car, striking both victims.
The man is described as black, in his early 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a stocky build and a long, oval-shaped face. He fled in a white vehicle, possibly a Hyundai Excel.
VIRGINIA BEACH
About midnight on April 24, a man attempted to rob the Chick-Fil-A in the 4300 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. in the Thalia area.
As the manager was leaving for the night, the man approached him, pulled out a silver handgun and demanded a money bag. When the would-be robber realized the manager didn't have a money bag, he fled.
The suspect is described as black, in his early 20s, 6 feet 1 inch tall and 180 pounds. He had a low-cut Afro hair style and was wearing baggy pants and a hooded camouflage jacket.
SUFFOLK
On May 25 and again on June 8, King's Fork Farms in the 1900 block of King's Fork Road was burglarized.
A large number of tools, mostly Snap-on, were taken, along with grinders, a compressor and an impact wrench. The stolen items are valued at several thousand dollars. A witness reported seeing a white pickup truck leaving the farm.
HAMPTON
Police are still searching for the murderer of a youth found strangled 14 years ago.
On the evening of June 10, 1983, the body of David Scott Gwaltney, 13, was found in a wooded area near the extended portion of Powhatan Parkway between Interstate 664 and West Queen Street.
A search for him had begun several hours earlier when he did not return home.
Detectives have followed up all their leads. Police are seeking any information that would help them close the case.
