AUDREY F. MEEKINS

Audrey F. Meekins, 72, died Sunday, June 15, 1997, at her residence.

Mrs. Meekins was born in London, England, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hatteras United Methodist Church and was a veteran, having served in the British Army during World War II. Mrs. Meekins was the daughter of the late George Field and Emilie Stone Field and the wife of the late Edison Willis Meekins.

She is survived by a daughter, Geraldine M. Tandy of Frisco, N.C.; a son, Doug Meekins of Hatteras; two sisters, Jessie Tilley of London, England, Lillian Francis of Margate, England; five grandchildren, Emily Tandy of Coinjock, N.C., Ami and Garrett Tandy of Frisco, Adam and Cena Meekins of Hatteras; and two step grandchildren, Travis and Dylan Rose of Hatteras.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hatteras United Methodist Church by the Rev. Don Brown and the Rev. Jim Huskins. Burial will be in Family Cemetery, Hatteras. The family will receive friends at the residence, 57174 M.V. Australia Land Road, Hatteras, from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
