Thomas Willcox ``Cox'' Joynes Jr., 68, of the 7400 block of Hampton Blvd., died June 18, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Joynes was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. He retired in 1996 from Kight Realty Co. Inc. after 30 years employment as a real estate agent. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Norfolk. He is a graduate of Granby High School and Washington and Lee University, class of 1952. He is a member of Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Mr. Joynes was an avid golfer and a member of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club; past president of the Cavalier Yacht and Country Club; member of the Norfolk Sports Club; vice president of Tidewater Professional Sports.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Eunice Mergl Joynes of Norfolk; two daughters, Sandra Joynes Ward of Norfolk, Eunice Joynes Harman and her husband Richard of Hampton; and two grandchildren.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd by the Rev. Ross Wright. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home, Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or the charity of the donor's choice.
