ROBERT SOLOMON

Robert ``Bob'' Solomon, 57, of the 800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd. died June 17, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A longshoreman and member of the International Longshoreman's Association Local No. 1248 for 18 years, he was a Littleton, N.C., native and a member of Christian Antioch Church of God in Christ, Portsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Solomon of Portsmouth; six daughters, Ann Rene Parker and Marietta Solomon, both of Atlanta, Benita Harkey of Virginia Beach, Jeannine Solomon, Qiana Solomon and Iwanda Oliver, all of Portsmouth; son, Anthony Rumble of Atlantic City, N.J.; two sisters, Betty Solomon of Wilson, N.C., and Rose Scott of Norristown, Pa.; four brothers, Henry Solomon of Wilson, Hezkiah Solomon of Norristown, Neil Solomon and Eugene Solomon, both of Washington, D.C.; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, Portsmouth, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at 10 a.m. today. The family will be at 1400 Lake Forest Drive, Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
