JEAN C. ROGERS

Miss Jean Caroline Rogers, 78, a former resident of Carsley, died June 19, 1997, at The Hermitage on the Eastern Shore, Onancock.

Miss Rogers was a native of Surry and the daughter of the late Herbert and Emily Savedge Rogers and sister of the late John G. Rogers. She was a member of Carsley United Methodist Church, Waverly, and the John Rolfe Branch of the A.P.V.A. She graduated from Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, and retired in 1972 after 28 years with the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Md.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Rebecca Wilkins Rogers of Onancock; and a nephew, John G. Rogers Jr. of Locustville.

A funeral will be conducted at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Carsley United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association, 6767 Forest Hill Ave., Suite 270, Richmond, Va. 23225-1851. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
