Mattie Mae Rhodes, 103, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, in Oakwood Nursing Home, Virginia Beach.
She was born May 4, 1894, in Patrick County and was the widow of Rufus P. Rhodes.
Surviving are three daughters, Gladys Boyd of Martinsville, Ruby Frye of Portsmouth, Frances Wallman of Chesapeake; two sons, R.C. Rhodes and Elmer Rhodes, both of Martinsville; two sisters, Lessie Tilley of Eden, N.C., and Ethel Spencer of Bassett; two brothers, Moir Wray of Bassett, Henry Wray of Thomasville, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 76 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Collinsville Baptist Church. Collins Funeral Service, Bassett, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
