HAZEL S. THOMPSON

Hazel Speer Thompson, 84, of the 100 block of W. Watson St. died Friday, June 20, 1997, in Bertie Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Roy V. Thompson Sr., a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., and secretary of Thompson & Co. Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of East Carolina Teachers College and a member of Fries Moravian Church, Winston-Salem.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Speer Goodwin of Locust Grove, Va.; three sons, Harry I. Thompson, Roy V. Thompson Jr., David G. Thompson, all of Windsor; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Cashie Baptist Church by the Rev. Jack Byrd. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 106 W. Watson St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winston Park Rest Home, 205 W. Watson St., Windsor, N.C. 27983 or to the charity of choice. Walker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
