Lonnie Ray ``Pop'' Hill Sr., 52, of the 1100 block of Park Ave., died June 20, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Rocky Mount, N.C., he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver for Schwerman Trucking Co.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy R. Hill; three sons, Lonnie Ray Hill Jr. of Norfolk, and David Paul Hill Sr. and Jeffrey A. Hill, both of Chesapeake; mother, Lillian S. Hill of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Peggy Branson of Rocky Mount and Diane Barnes of Shipley, Fla.; four brothers, Billy Hill and Joe Hill, both of Gentry, Ark., and Jimmy Hill and Henry Hill, both of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren, Joshua Hill, Shawn Hill and Lyndsey Hill, all of Norfolk, and Bubs and Christine Hill of Chesapeake; two daughters-in-law, Linda Hill of Norfolk and Trish Hill of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by the Rev. Randy Wooden. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
