ROBERT L. JENKINS

Robert L. Jenkins, 82, of the 900 block of Jamestown Crescent, died Monday, June 23, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Bob was born in Roanoke, Va., the son of the late Samuel Robert Jenkins and Lola Dawn Brooks Jenkins. He was an active member of Larchmont United Methodist Church, Norfolk, and was the Norfolk District Director for the United Methodist Men from 1969 to 1995. Bob was a member of the Peek Bible Class at Larchmont United Methodist Church and was an active supporter of VUMAR. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Mary L. Morrison Jenkins; daughter, Margaret Corrigan of Hilton Head, S.C.; son, Robert Dorsey Jenkins of Norfolk; and a sister, Edna Sweeney of Newport News.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Larchmont United Methodist Church by Dr. Jerry O. Campbell. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. A private interment will take place at a later date. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Tidewater Office, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
