WARREN J. O'CONNELL

Warren J. O'Connell, 69, of the 1000 block of Josephine Crescent, died Sunday, June 22, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Malden, Mass., Mr. O'Connell was a retired chief petty officer with the U.S. Navy and was also retired supply systems analyst with civil service.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara O'Connell. Survivors include two daughters, Debra G. East and Denise T. O'Connell, both of Virginia Beach; two sons, Donald V. Page and Andrew W. Page, both of Virginia Beach; five sisters, Francis Genaras of Summerville, Mass., Dorothy King of Malden, Gertrude Jones of Chelsea, Mass., Agnes Franson of Saugus, Mass., and Alice LaRosa of Chelsea, Mass; three brothers, Donald O'Connell of National City, Calif., John O'Connell of Revere, Mass., and Leo O'Connell of Chelsea; five grandchildren, Shawn East, Bonnie East, Tracie McClain, Nicole and Anna Newman, all of Virginia Beach; three great-grandchildren, Savanah and Billy McClain and Donald Styles; five nieces, Carole Buonopane of W. Peabody, Mass., Carol Barker of St. Petersburg, Fla., Joan Godfrey of Charleston, Mass., Margie Smith of North Carolina and Pam Kung of Revere, Mass.; three nephews, Daniel Webber of Revere, Kenneth Webber of Chelsea and Robert Barker of Lawrence, Mass.; as well as many other nieces, nephews, nephews and dear close friends.

A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, by Father James E. Parke. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, where military honors will be accorded. There will be an open visitation all day Thursday and Thursday evening in the funeral home. The children and family of Mr. Warren O'Connell would also like to invite you to join them at his home, 1044 Josephine Crescent, Virginia Beach, Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
