OSCAR L. EVERETT

Oscar Lorenzo Everett of the 1100 block of Custis Road died June 21, 1997, athome.

He was a tower operator and manager for Union Camp Corp. with 34 years service before retiring 34 years ago. He was a native of Southampton County, was a member of Mount Gilead A.M.E., Franklin, and was a Sunday school class leader and served on the board of trustees.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae R. Everett; daughter, JoAnn Everett; three sisters, Elsie Mae Carter, Julia Geneva Johnson and Bessie Burnett Battle; two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ellen Parham Everett and Aaron J. Everett.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Mount Gilead A.M.E. Church, Franklin, by the Rev. Valarie Knight. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
