PASTORIA W. BYRUM

Pastoria Ward Byrum, 99, of the 800 block of Happy Home Road, died Wednesday June 25, 1997 in her home.

A native of Ryland, N.C., Mrs. Byrum was the daughter of the late Starkey Wrighton and Peniniah W. Ward and the wife of the late Walter Trotman Byrum. She was the oldest member of the Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was the past teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class and the past president of the Woman's Auxiliary.

A devoted, mother and grandmother, she is survived by two sons and their wives, McAuley C. and Bernice Byrum of Salisbury, N.C., John Butler and Nina Byrum of Tyner; her daughter and husband, Regina B. and Deroy Bunch of Tyner; seven grandchildren, Curtis and Ricky Bunch of Tyner, Scarlett Parkinson of Toledo, Ore., John and Walter Byrum of Tyner, McAuley Byrum Jr. of Clemmons, N.C., James A. Byrum of Greenville, N.C.; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Happy Home Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Henry Pillow. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Deroy and Regina Bunch, 504 Ryland Road, Tyner, N.C. Evans Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
