ALICE E. SOUTH

Alice Elizabeth South, 77, died June 26, 1997, in a local nursing home.

A native of Norfolk, she was a member of Hatteras United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer in church activities. She was a past president of the Emblem Club.

Survivors include her husband, George South Jr.; a daughter, Arlene Bolz of San Diego; a son, George South III of Chesapeake; a grandson, Gregory South of Courtland, Va.; a great-grandson, Forrest South of Courtland; and a niece, Gertrude Wright of Medford, N.J.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. James R. Huskins. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
