SAMUEL L. HENDRICKS JR.

Samuel ``Bro'' Lee Hendricks Jr. passed away at his residence Thursday, June 26, 1997.

He was a native of Ahoskie, N.C., and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1980. He was retired from J&M Investments.

He is survived by his mother, Janice A. Hendricks of Norfolk, and father, Samuel Lee Hendricks Sr. of Canton, N.J.; a daughter, Shaua Clary; grandmother, Lelia C. Futrell; three sisters, Jacquline Yancey, Tracy Hendricks and Lisa Church; two brothers, Calvin Hendricks and Nicholas Hendricks; four nephews, Kendall Hendricks, Ronald Yancey, James Church Jr. and Cameron Yancey; three nieces, Ashley Church, Whittney Yancey and Brittney ``Miss B'' Church; a special aunt, Mable Sanders; a special uncle, James ``Sonny'' Sanders; two brothers-in-law, James Church Sr. and Ronald ``Pop'' Yancey; a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends; and two special friends, Ellery K. Payton Jr. and Michael B. Gates.

A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mark RZUA Church by the Rev. Alvin B. Thomas. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
