CRIME LINE

Portsmouth

On June 15, about 9:30 p.m., Michael Hedge, 19, was killed on the Simonsdale basketball court after a fight broke out among players.

Hedge had been playing a game of basketball when four teens arrived in a dark vehicle and joined the game. A fight broke out and Hedge was shot.

The suspects, all male, were described as black and were between 5 feet 5 and 5 feet 11 and weighed 130 to 160 pounds. Two of them may be cousins, one known as ``Ron.''

Virginia Beach

About 3:30 a.m. on May 22, the Radio Shack in the College Park Shopping Center was burglarized.

The suspect smashed the front window with a tire iron, setting off the alarm. He moved quickly and put four Radio Shack walkie talkies, three UHF hand-held radios, three Optimus VCRs and two dual-cassette recorders in a green trash container and fled.

The burglar was taped by a video camera. He is described as black, about 35, 5 feet 10, with a receding hairline and a stocky build.

Chesapeake

Just after midnight on June 12, a husband and wife were robbed while unloading their car in the parking lot of a motel in the 1500 block of Crossways Blvd.

A man approached the couple, pulled out a small chrome-plated handgun and demanded their wallet and purse. He then fled across Greenbrier Parkway.

The suspect is described as black, 25, 5 feet 10 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans.

Suffolk

On June 24 about 3:30 a.m., two men robbed the Econo Lodge in the 1000 block of N. Main St.

The pair, wearing stocking masks, entered the lobby and held the clerk at gunpoint. One of the suspects went behind the counter and took cash from the register and safe. The men drove off in a black, two-door 1990s model car.

The men are described as white, 5 feet 8, 180 to 185 pounds, and were dressed in pullover shirts and blue jeans.

Hampton

Dwayne Kendrick Handy Sr., 31, is wanted for robbery of a Hampton business and use of a firearm during a felony.

Handy is described as black, 5 feet 9, 145 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

Clyde W. Boyce, 24, who is also known as ``C,'' is wanted for murder and use of a firearm in connection with a homicide on March 26, 1994, in the 1000 block of Blazer Court.

Boyce is described as black, 5 feet 10 and 142 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
