Nora Casey Gaskill, 97, died Monday, June 30, 1997, at Nags Head nursing facility.
Mrs. Gaskill was born in Buxton, N.C., and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ocracoke United Methodist Church and a charter member of the United Methodist Women. She was the daughter of the late James Casey and the late Cora Spencer Casey and the wife of Thurston Gaskill, who currently resides at Britthaven Nursing Home.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Gaskill is survived by a stepdaughter, Annie Gaskins of Ocracoke; two stepsons, Irvin Garrish and William Gaskill, both of Ocracoke; a daughter-in-law, Edna Garrish of Chesapeake; two sisters, Edna Gray of Buxton and Myrtle Braxton of Ayden; a granddaughter, Susan Delp, and a great-grandson, James Ward, both of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Myron Garrish.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ocracoke United Methodist Church by the Rev. Allen Lovell. Burial will be in Ocracoke Community Cemetery. The body will be placed in church at 3 p.m. today. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
