Otis Beale, 76, of Dorchester N3, died June 29, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Southampton County, he is survived by his wife, Annie L. Beale, and was retired from the state highway department. He was a member of White Oak Spring Baptist Church, Franklin, and served on the board of ushers for 50 years.
Other survivors include his daughter, Virgie L. Fetcher of Norfolk; two sisters, Lizzie Pope of Hampton and Nettie Blunt of Newport News; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in White Oak Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Lee. Burial will be in White Oak Spring Cemetery. William M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
