AMELIA M. BROWN

Amelia ``Molly'' Martin Brown, 82, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997.

She was the widow of James Anthony Fernandes and Elbert Gordon Brown. She was a resident of the Newport News Baptist Retirement Community since 1985. Previously she had been a resident of Norfolk for over 60 years.

She was a past corresponding secretary of the Home League Salvation Army. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter (NU)34 Ocean View, and a past chaplain of the Tidewater Senior Daughters of the Nile Ocean View and the 60 Plus Club of Ocean View Recreation.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Margaret Brown of Newport News; brothers-in-law, John Brown of Norfolk and William Paul of Richmond; a stepdaughter, Betty Jo Shawn of Norfolk; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, in the Assembly Room of the Newport News Baptist Retirement Community, 955 Harpersville Road, Newport News. Your prayers and donations to the Salvation Army are requested in remembrance of Molly. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
