Richard Calvin Jones Jr., 42, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Newport News. A self-employed musician, he played with several bands in the area over the years.
He is survived by four daughters, Susan L. Somerville and Crystal A. Harrington, both of Virginia Beach, Brittany J. Jones and Betty Jean Cooper, both of Manassas, Va.; a son, R. Michael Jones of Norfolk; his mother, Helen Jones of Williamsburg; three sisters, Mary Fulton of Williamsburg, Janet Luxford of Jacksonville, Fla., Jean Yorkers of Birmingham, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Amory Funeral Home Chapel, Grafton, by Swanie Brayboy. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
