Sarah Swinson Perry, 82, of the 100 block of Wynn St. died June 30, 1997, in Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth.
A native of Green County, N.C., she was the widow of Samuel Perry Jr. and a member of Noble St. Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and a missionary.
Survivors include two daughters, Devonne Perry Jeffers of Capital Heights, Md., and Waldensia Perry Wise of Newport News; four sons, Reginald Perry of Portsmouth, Samuel D. Perry of Richmond, Brenton Perry and Heron Perry, both of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Odessa S. Moore and Iola Swinson Battle, both of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Noble St. Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Henry Jones. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
