DOROTHY G. SHUMADINE

Dorothy Grammer Shumadine, 93, of the 1300 block of Cedar Lane, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in a Norfolk health care center.

She had retired after 45 years as a school teacher in the Norfolk Public School System. In the latter part of her teaching career she taught at Blair Middle School. She was born in Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Gertrude Goings Shumadine and Lloyd L. Shumadine.

Miss Shumadine was a member of Park Place Baptist Church, the Ann Judson Bible Class, Norfolk Woman's Club, and was a past worthy matron and 67-year member of Old Dominion Chapter, No. 100, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two cousins, Virginia Griffin of Norfolk, Elizabeth Norton of Arlington, Va.; and her loving friends, Pearl Hanbury and Betty and Kenny Woolwine of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Paul B. Watlington Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to Park Place Baptist Church. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
